  • Do not shake. Shaking could cause (erythropoietin) not to work. If you shake, the solution in the vial may look foamy and should not be used.

30. Pronestyl ( procainamide HCL) IV. Treatment of documented ventricular arrhythmias, such as sustained ventricular tachycardia, that, in the judgement of the physician, are life-threatening. 2º to proarrhythmic effects of procainamide, its use with lesser arrhythmias is generally not recommended. Treatment of patients with asymptomatic ventricular premature contractions should be avoided.

12. Salicylates any salt or ester of salicylic acid. Most commonly, aspirin. Advise patients  that use or overuse of seemingly benign OTC medications is sometimes dangerous. The ready availability of aspirin and aspirin-containing products does not establish the safety of aspirin.

7. Phenytoin (fosphenytoin sodium) IV – CEREBYX –  control of generalized tonic-clonic status epilepticus and prevention and treatment of seizures occurring during neurosurgery. Can also be substituted, short-term, for oral phenytoin. PO – DILANTIN  – control of generalized tonic-clonic and complex partial (psychomotor, temporal lobe) seizures and prevention and treatment of seizures occurring during or following neurosurgery. Phenytoin serum level determinations may be necessary for optimal dosage adjustments
